Christo's journey to bring a project conceptualized 50 years ago to life
In 2016 the celebrated artist Christo launched The Floating Piers on Italy's Lago d'Iseo, an enormous dahlia-yellow path above the water that was eventually experienced by 1.2 million people. Yet the work was first conceptualized nearly fifty years before, a shared dream of Christo and his wife and creative partner Jeanne-Claude. Ten years after her passing, Walking on Water delves into Christo's journey to bring the project to life.
Boasting uncensored access to the artist and his team, Walking on Water documents the creative process behind a hugely ambitious art installation from inception to completion. Andrey Paounov's film premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival, Toronto, BAFICI, and Hong Kong.
