When her career came to an abrupt end in 1919, however, both her films and legacy as the first female filmmaker were largely forgotten.
Featuring interviews with Agnès Varda, Ava DuVernay, and Julie Taymor, Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blache is a fascinating profile of a long lost pioneer of early cinema. Pamela B. Green’s directorial debut premiered at Cannes, Telluride, Göteborg, and Indielisboa. Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blache is a New York Times Critic's Pick.
