Aimie’s family has recently immigrated from South Korea. They live in a bleak, wintry town in North America, their isolation underscored by the layers of snow that fall seemingly without end. Aimie has feelings for her best friend Tran, who treats her with ambivalence. Desperate for connection, Aimie overlooks Tran’s conflicting impulses toward her, preferring the warmth of his infrequent embrace to a life spent alone.
