The Film Society of Lincoln Center's third edition of contemporary Latin American cinema highlights a diversity of styles, techniques, and approaches employed by Latin American filmmakers today. Impressive recent productions include Gabriel and the Mountain which premiered at Cannes' Semaine de la Critique; María Jose Cuevas' portrait of Mexican burlesque dancers Beauties of the Night, which premiered at Toronto; and visual artist Adrián Villar Rojas' film installation The Theater of Disappearance, which previously screened at the Berlinale and MoMA. The selection spans a wide geographic range, featuring established auteurs as well as fresh talent from the international festival scene.
Neighboring Scenes runs through March 4th at Lincoln Center. Co-presented by Cinema Tropical.
